Philip Harris Ticker Tape Timer with Holder and Tape
Philip Harris Ticker Tape Timer with Holder and Tape
Product code: E8R06431
Product Description
For the measurement of velocity and acceleration, using timing marks made on a moving self-marking paper tape by a vibrating 'striker'. Designed to operate on a 12V AC supply and uses the mains frequency as its timing standard. The unit is housed on a metal base 300 x 160 mm. The base also carries a tape guide which incorporates a self-marking paper tape. Pair of 4mm sockets is provided on the side of the case for connection to the electrical supply. Supplied with a roll of 50m of self-marking paper tape, 15 mm wide.
- Spare Ticker Tape is available: B8R07098
- Key Stage 3 Physics - Motion and Forces: Speed and the quantitative relationship between average speed, distance and time (speed = distance ÷ time).
- Key Stage 4 Physics - Forces and Motion: Forces as vectors. Speed of sound, estimating speeds and accelerations in everyday contexts. Interpreting quantitatively graphs of distance, time, and speed: Make and interpret measurements of distances, times, speeds and accelerations, and represent these in graphical form.
- Setting a limit on Power Supplies is useful to prevent overloading the Ticker Timer.
