Philip Harris Kinetic Theory Model
Philip Harris Kinetic Theory Model
Product code: E8H25365
Product Description
This apparatus is designed to illustrate qualitatively the various aspects of the kinetic theory of gases. An electric motor running at 4 - 12V DC vibrates a small platform inside the Perspex tube causing the steel balls to move within the tube. An increase in the violence of vibration simulates an increase in gas temperature and an increase in the weight of the 'float' simulates an increase in gas pressure. Supplied with balls, Styrofoam float and manual.
- GCSE Chemistry - States of Matter
- A2 Physics - Further Mechanics and Thermal Physics: Understand that the gas laws are empirical in nature whereas the kinetic theory model arises from theory.
