UNILAB GCSE BEK Kit - 3 Students
UNILAB GCSE BEK Kit - 3 Students
Product code: CP052081
Product Description
Contents enable 1 group of up to 3 students to carry out investigations into electrical components and circuits using structured work cards, and robust components. The BEK components are mounted on to tough yellow plastic tiles, each fitted with two 4mm terminals. The components can be made in to circuits by connecting them together using the supplied 4mm leads. Each component tile features the correct circuit symbol for the specific component. This kit also contains a multimeter, which is a multifunctional instrument ideal for educational use, allowing students to grasp the concept of measuring voltage and current using the same meter. The supplied work cards have been written by our in-house experts and cover the current required G.C.S.E practical elements The kit is supplied in a blue Gratnells tray to aid packing away and ease of storage.
Kit Contents:
- 5 x Red 4mm Leads
- 5 x Black 4mm Leads
- 1 x Reel of Nichrome Wire
- 1 x 1N5401 Diode
- 1 x 100 Ohm Potentiometer
- 2 x 1K Ohm Resistor
- 1 x 100 Ohm Resistor
- 1 x 4 Cell Holder
- 2 x Multimeter
- 1 x Bulb Holder
- 25 x Bulbs
- 1 x Pack of Work Cards
- Contains all components to allow students to carry out practical work on component characteristics and resistance.
- Supplied with step by step work cards that are aligned to the current UK Physics Curriculum.
- Key Stage 4 Physics – Electricity: Difference between series and parallel circuits and how this affects the way a resistor works. Calculating current, pd and resistance in series and parallel circuits. Definition of resistance and how this changes with different components. Understanding of the requirements of a circuit in order for current to flow. Drawing circuit diagrams; exploring equivalent resistance for resistors in series. Quantity of charge flowing as the product of current and time. Exploring current, resistance and voltage relationships for different circuit elements; including their graphical representations. Measuring resistance using p.d. and current measurements. Power transfer related to p.d. and current, or current and resistance.
- The BEK Tiles are easily connectible using standard laboratory 4mm Stackable Plug Leads
Contains equipment to complete the following practical activities:
- Resistors in Series and Parallel Circuits
- Resistivity of a Wire
- Component Characteristics
